Ben Hutcheson releases motivational new single Almost There – Jem Girl at the Piano
Described as a ‘young singer/songwriter with a wisdom beyond his years’, Bristol-based Ben Hutcheson uses his lyrical prowess to ‘tackle universal themes such as love and loss…yet weave captivating stories with a contemporary feel’ (All About Eve).
Critiqued as bridging the storytelling gap between the likes of Ed Sheeran, Luke Combs, and Scotty McCreery, and relating heavily to artists such as Post Malone, The Script and Passenger, Ben has become a growingly aware and prominent artist to look out for. Over the last few years, Ben has organically grown his audience to a steady 350,000 listeners per month on streaming platforms, amassing in excess of 40 million streams worldwide, and featuring in the Top 10 of the UK Hotdisc chart for 10 weeks.
Having graced the stage with acts such as Scouting For Girls, Natalie Imbruglia, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, and Billy Ocean, Ben has cut his teeth in fine company. Ben has begun collaborating with the likes of Danish producer Toby Rose and Shoby, and most recently, working with Nashville-based British country music producer, Tyler Spicer, ‘along with two members of my band (Fionn Mcguinness Maris and Finlay Bradley)’ to produce his new single Almost There. Bringing his blend of country-rock to the forefront, this track further propels Ben’s growing stature within the burgeoning UK scene and allows him to showcase his musical progression. Talking about the single Ben says:
“I wrote this after a darker period in my life and when I felt like I was starting to make a more positive step forward, being Almost There and almost through that dark period of my life. The song encompasses the upbeat and motivational message along with a feel good and relaxed vibe which really makes you feel like things aren’t as bad as they seem. This song to me gives off a positive and can-do mental attitude, which mixed with the rockier stylings of the song, gives a motivational feeling to it. This song will absolutely resonate with people and with a lot of people recently opening up about mental health, I feel this would really make a connection with a lot of individuals. It is also the period where seasonal depression is beginning to disappear and this song could help lift people out along with being able to take their own meanings from it.”
