Jamila & The Other Heroes present new song & video, “LAYLA ليلى” – Aipate
Fronted by German-born Palestinian singer Jamila Al-Yousef, Jamila & The Other Heroes is a Berlin-based band known for their funky fusion of psychedelic rock with Middle Eastern folk. Their songs are steeped in storytelling and tackle political issues such as immigration.
The other day, Jamila & The Other Heroes released a beautiful and powerful song called “LAYLA ليلى “. It came paired with a music video filmed in Cairo.
Jamila comments, “‘LAYLA ليلى ‘ is a tribute to the souls of Ghazza and everyone touched by the pain and resilience of this past year – near and afar. It is for our global Palestinian family, for the dreamers who carry our struggle in their hearts, and for every person who stands with us in our fight for freedom, equal rights, dignity, and justice. Your unwavering support reminds us that even in the darkest nights, we are not alone.”
