Owen Morton releases new single Mine  – Jem Girl at the Piano

Liverpool-based country singer-songwriter Owen Morton brings a fresh perspective to the scene with his rich, silky vocals, electrifying energy and a classic scouse charm.

His folk-country inspirations including Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan mixed with his classic country upbringing means that Owen delivers an exciting discography that touches upon the highs and lows of real life, giving listeners a versatile and relatable musical experience.

In his first year, Owen amassed over 400,000 Spotify streams and his fanbase continues to grow thanks to singles like Leave Me Alone and Let’s Play Two. With no sign of slowing down, this part-time sailor/part-time country singer is creating waves in the industry that are being felt on both sides of the Atlantic.

Cowboy Dreams was the first release of 2025, co-written with Texas song-writer, John Wiliamson (aka Swilson). Speaking of the songs’ birth, John says:

“I wrote Cowboy Dreams because, growing up in the city, I always felt like an outsider to country music, even though both my parents came from small southern towns. I imagined what life as a cowboy might be like—something so different from my own reality. When it came time to bring the song to life, I chose you because you also had a similar experience feeling like an outsider to traditional country. I thought it would be a good mix to really get ‘dreams’”.

Owen adds, “I was fortunate enough to help write parts of cowboy dreams, as well as sing it. The song echoes both mine and John’s experiences of being “city” boys but who are country at heart. Its sound is uplifting and almost optimistic, and its lyrics speak of the dreams we both have of living the cowboy life – even if it’s just for a little while”.

For those following Owen on social media, the songs are coming thick and fast, with the highly anticipated duet, Never Wanna Be Without You, featuring British CMA-nominated ‘Vocalist of the Year’, Georgia Nevada. But first, the release of Mine, due for release on January 24th.

“John Williamson brought the chorus to me. Being a lover of the Autumn, the ‘feel’ of this song captivated instantly and I saw it as a window to write a love song that is stooped in autumnal imagery and warmth… we wanted to convey the physical feeling, sound, smell and taste of the fall and wrap it all up in a romantic context – making for a fun and catchy way to express affection and gratitude.”

“Sure it is not the fall anymore, especially come release date, but Mine is still on track to be your next wholesome country-folk love song. And who knows, maybe it’ll make it onto your fall playlist next year!”
