Bettina Welcomes Drama in New Single “Messy Girl” – Aipate
Bettina is about to take the pop scene by storm. Making her debut early this year with “Want Me Bad”, the young British talent has already dropped a few song; her latest offering “Messy Girl” is only her fifth ever single.
“Messy Girl” is a bubbly song that exemplifies her vibrant fusion of pop, R&B and hip hop. With tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a sassy, unapologetic attitude, this is quite an anthem. A refreshing one, I must add.
Bettina explains, “The single is my clapback to the gossip mill. I got so used to people talking and hearing crazy rumours about myself that I figured, ok bet, I can be all of that if you want me to, but it’s not gonna end well for you if I do. This song is a challenge to everyone who thinks they know me better than I do, and can’t keep my name out of their mouths. I also really wanted to make something danceable and urgent for those absolutely unapologetically feral nights at the end of summer, when you know it’s about to end so you just go full send on the chaos and the messiness.“
May the drama begin! Lol. But seriously, Bettina is an exciting addition to the pop scene. And she’s attracting interest from top tastemakers, with platforms such as Earmilk and LADYGUNN having already featured her music.
