Ryley Tate Wilson – “Party Girl”
So, when I first heard “Party Girl” by Ryley Tate Wilson, I mistook the artist for an older guy looking back on his fun, carefree days. Turns out he is an 18-year-old with a really powerful voice and mature songwriting. “Party Girl is about being out and getting that pit in your stomach like you miss someone desperately. Seeing others around you having a great time but all you can do is wish for that special someone to be back in your life – but they’re not coming back,” Ryley says about this upbeat and nostalgic indie pop song. The artist, who was a contestant on NBC show The Voice, paired it with a befittingly fun-loving visual.

THERA – “rewind”
THERA is not your average 18-year-old. While reviewing her debut album I Wished I Called last year, I was mesmerized by her use of honesty to deliver powerful pop songs. The emerging Czech pop singer has maintained an upward trajectory this year, and her latest single “rewind” will earn her even more fans. With it, the artist turns relationship rumination into a peppy pop track. You’ll likely be dancing along as you digest the lyrics, which describe a continuous cycle of a toxic relationship. THERA is an artist to watch — Spotify included her in their EQUAL program.

Aqua Riyaz – “Thousand Nights”
Aqua Riyaz (born Justin Degryse) is a young Belgian singer who has been rendering listeners speechless since he decided to participate in The Voice Kids (2020). Now delivering original compositions, he is demonstrating high-level songcraft. “Thousand Nights” is his latest song and the final single ahead of his debut EP. Piano-guided and layered with stirring string melodies, the song was co-written with Adriano Lopes Da Silva and producer Domien Cnockaert. It tells the story of a journey across oceans, mountains, and stars in search of love and belonging. “It’s my favorite song on the EP. The song feels like the color blue. To me, ‘Thousands Nights’ is the beginning of a new musical chapter,” Riyaz shares.

Lily Lane – “Reciprocation”
Over the last few years, Boston-native singer Lily Lane has impressed fans and tastemakers alike with her genre-bending style. With a new EP titled Domesticated being readied, she’s already dropped two magnificent singles in 2025: first “Cry Baby” and now “Reciprocation”. While “Cry Baby” introduced me to her pop-soul style, this new offering takes me farther back in time — “Reciprocation” is bubbly and poppier and imbues a vintage feel reminiscent of ’60s pop. Lane’s performance, both vocally and in the accompanying music video, is truly outstanding. “Reciprocation is both the sound of knowing your worth and a playful threat sealed with a kiss,” she remarks.

Ella Red – “He Asked For It”
With lyrics and visuals handing out violent justice to victims of sexual violence, Ella Red‘s new single “He Asked For” is a really bold project. In terms of style, the track lean towards alt-pop. “He Asked For It” utterly catchy. And the song’s arrival coincides with the announcement of the artist’s debut album, IT’S NOT REAL (due January 23rd). “He Asked For It” follows the singles “Ball and Chain” and “Parasite”. Together, they give listeners a feel of what to expect in the album.

elijah woods – “I Miss You”
elijah woods‘ debut album, Can We Talk?, is now just around the corner — the LP will be released on October 14th. Well, following the release of “Ghost On The Radio” and “Slicked Back Hair”, the Canadian artist returned with another single. He named the new song “I Miss You”. With heartfelt lyrics and contagious pop melodies, it’s the perfect final single before the album’s release. “‘I Miss You’ is about holding on to hope when love feels uncertain—that late-night belief that if we just keep trying, we can find our way back,” woods shares. “It’s emotional, but ultimately about faith in connection.”
