“EGO” by Canadian singer Nuela Charles is not your typical breakup song. It is what happens when two people allow jealousy and ephemeral fame to come in between their shared dream. With this smooth retro soul track, Nuela created a bop, one set against a backdrop of moody chords and hypnotic melodies.
The singer’s velvety vocals shine throughout. She co-produced “EGO” with frequent collaborator Matt Parad, whom she worked with on her previous offering, “History”.
