New Single “Sydney” Finds Avalon Overcome By Remorse – Aipate
There are those friendships that feel like they were meant to last a lifetime. So, what happens when one party ends up bearing the guilt of shattering such a connection, even if they still feel moving on was the right decision?
Los Angeles artist Avalon confronts these complex emotions in her newest song “Sydney”. In her case, she had cut ties with someone whom she’d known for a decade — her best friends since kindergarten days.
Avalon shares, “I want (it) to be a reminder of what it means to be human and how beautiful it is to feel, even if those feelings are painful. I believe pain makes the most beautiful flowers grow. This song is a time capsule of me processing a loss in real time but it is also a love letter, an apology and an overdue, proper, goodbye to someone I will love for the rest of my life.“
The piano-driven, guitar-infused indie ballad evokes feelings that are intense and universally relatable.
At just 19, Avalon has the maturity of a veteran songwriter, and “Sydney” is proof of her immense talent. Give the song a listen and follow Avalon on Instagram.
