The Return of Grit and Groove — Sanjay Michael’s “Wall Street Blues” Revives Rock’s Core
When Sanjay Michael plugs in his guitar he isn’t following trends. He is following a feeling – that pulse of classic rock that defined entire generations. Born in Malaysia, raised in Australia and now settled in Singapore, Sanjay blends cultures and a long time through roaring amplifiers and straight talk.
He says he still believes in electric guitars, “There’s absolutely nothing worse That sounds like it, and I miss true mainstream rock songs.” Right after his very first album Rocking Into Midnight was praised by Music-News as “a modern day rock masterpiece,” Sanjay could have followed suit. Instead he kept one song – a sexy track known as Wall Street Blues which didn’t fit the rest of the record’s tone.
That decision set his next chapter. While jamming with his band, Sanjay received clarity. He stripped his sound, simplified his riffs and sharpened his emotion. “Practicing and jamming helped simplify my riffs and lyrics,” he says. That has been how Baby Baby was born. I love it due to its simplicity and for its power. “
From those sessions emerged a three track EP – bold, raw and unapologetically human. Sanjay isn’t out to mimic the greats of the 70s – simply to remind the world why that sound mattered to begin with.
“Wall Street Blues” — Where Money Meets Mayhem
Sanjay Michael’s brand new release Wall Street Blues is a runaway train – crunching guitars, thundering rhythms and a smirk behind each line. The song possesses determination and swagger and reminds us that rock music could be playful and strong.
Initially recorded for Rocking Into Midnight, the track was too fierce and focused to sit silently among others. Its theme – obsession with money and chaos – demanded its own space – and it didn’t take very long before I thought of an EP – other songs might work with it, “Sanjay says.
The result is a sound which references AC/DC and the Rolling Stones but is Sanjay’s own conviction. Guitars bite, vocals command and the energy is like a live performance trapped inside studio walls. However , behind the noise is a message – a bluesy reflection on the greed that drives people and the empty places it leaves.
Wall Street Blues isn’t background music. It is a modern day anthem for anybody who has ever pursued success too far and wondered what got lost in the process.
Why Sanjay’s Rock Revival Matters
In an age of algorithmic playlists and auto-tuned hits, Sanjay Michael’s Wall Street Blues is rebellion. It isn’t about reinventing rock, but bringing back the dirt, the sweat, the stories that mirror daily struggles.
Pop stars sing about love and empowerment; the rappers about sex and the society, “Sanjay says. So maybe this EP is going to bring back the focus to the basics of daily humanity “And That is precisely what his brand new songs do – they cut through the noise. They return to a genre which brought millions together with honest talk about love, ambition and the need for more. Wall Street Blues is much more than nostalgia – it is a pulse check of the human condition.
It is also a reminder to listeners that rock has words. Whether it is about love’s chaos or money’s temptation, Sanjay gives grit and heart. His EP spans eras and also proves electric guitars still belong in contemporary storytelling.
