Astrid Swan reissues her debut album Poverina, adding a new song – Aipate

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Poverina, Finnish artist Astrid Swan decided to reissue it.

Remastered by Tuomas Salmela, Poverina (20th Anniversary Edition) includes one extra song: “Special Ones (Original Version”. Why the label ‘original version’?

Well, Astrid initially recorded the song in 2005 for Poverina but it never made it to the album. Then, a few years ago, she recorded another version, which was added to her 2017 album, From the Bed and Beyond.

So, what we have here is the original version as was recorded 20 years ago. The song is a piano-guided and layered with stirring string melodies. “Special Ones (Original Version” is really beautiful.
