Local Nomad returns with new single, “I Can’t Get High Anymore” – Aipate

Growing older means losing touch with some friends and constantly trying to hold on to happy memories. It is such moments of reminiscing that can lure someone back to their old, youthful habits, only for them to find no more thrill in these activities. The song “I Can’t Get High Anymore” by New York singer-songwriter Local Nomad (a.k.a. Michael Desmond) captures this bittersweet feeling perfectly.

Simply, it’s a reflective indie rock piece that reminds us that the past just can’t be relived. Still, the nostalgia is so palpable — and the song quite intoxicating.
