A new name in the pop music scene, Simón (a.k.a. Simón Villamizar) is one artist you should begin paying attention to.
The 19-year-old Miami-based singer hails from a musical family — his mother Lina Luna is a Latin Grammy Award winner while his uncle Jorge Villamizar has won numerous awards as part of the band Bacilos. This heritage, mixed with his various musical and cultural influences, has moulded Simón into an artist that one can’t ignore.
What you DEFINITELY shouldn’t ignore is his newest offering, a haunting ballad called “CAVE”. Dressed in gorgeous production, the song feels sonically textured and lyrically broody. Without having to delve into the lyrics, I can just say this is a really beautiful song.
