New EP titled Modern Rock exhibits Walter The Producer’s captivating style – Aipate
Los Angeles artist Walter The producer‘s brand of alt-rock feels infectiously familiar yet hard to properly define. It is a concoction of indie rock, pop, disco and R&B flavours, which you get a great taste of in this new EP titled Modern Rock.
“Lonely Cowboy” is the EP’s focus track, a psychedelia-infused, melancholic song imbued with hints of ‘70s rock and modern soul.
About the song, Walter says: “I made ‘Lonely Cowboy’ with Alex Beitzke in March 2024. I had this guitar idea and we built off that. A couple months later, we met up and re-recorded everything a key higher. I was listening to a lot of Jimi Hendrix at the time. Brent Faiyaz has a song called ‘LA’ — that was a big inspiration vibe-wise.”
Other songs I really like are these earworms: “I’d Know”, “Tell Me Again” and “Little Lies”. I promise you, once you begin playing this collection of songs, you’ll want to repeat listening, again and again.
