Samantha Margret reveals “I’m Burning” single – listen – Aipate
2025 is shaping up to be another impressive year for US alt-pop singer Samantha Margret. On the heels of her “Hot Enough” single is another stellar release.
The new song is called “I’m Burning” and it’s an emotionally charged electro pop track brimming with moody synths. On it, Samantha explores power dynamics between two people.
“Who has the power really? If you bring the matches but I am the kindling, that heat is mine. So the real question is: how much power am I willing to spend burning us both to the ground?” she muses.
The artist expounds that the song “speaks to the constant back at forth I feel between the desire to be liked and the need to be who I am. Even in the production, we were pushing ourselves and there would be these moments of ‘what’s too far? What if people don’t get it?’. Ultimately, freedom means sometimes being disliked or even hated.“
