HLLLYH enter new chapter with “Uru Buru” – Aipate
San Francisco’s HLLLYH are an offshoot of The Mae Shi, which was an art punk band that was active between 2002 and 2009. The current line-up consists of original members Tim Byron, Ezra Buchla, Jeff Byron, Brad Breeck and Corey Fogel, as well as new members Dan Chao, James Baker and Burt Hashiguchi.
“Uru Buru” is the first single and title track of HLLLYH’s upcoming new full-length release, which is a concept album drawing from 20th century mysticism and tracing a hero’s journey from the spirit world and back.
“Uru Buru” feels bright and euphoric, despite its thoughtful lyrics which speak about being trapped in vicious cycles.
