Euan Blackman’s “girl” is a catchy singalong – listen – Aipate
Although relatively a newcomer, UK indie-pop artist Euan Blackman has already attracted the attention of the likes of Billboard and Time Magazine, and it’s not hard to see why, especially if you listen to his latest single, “girl”.
While this isn’t the singer-songwriter’s most introspective song ever, it’s perhaps his poppiest. The guitar-driven track features an addictive hook, which will surely stick in your head for at least a few days. Blackman’s lyrics, although direct, are loaded with emotion.
“‘Girl’ is the most obnoxiously poppy and sing-alongable my music has ever sounded,” he says. “I’m a huge Springsteen fan — he writes with depth, but his hooks fill stadiums. That’s the goal: great songwriting and mass connection.”
If, like me, you can’t get enough of this song, check out Euan Blackman’s other songs on Spotify. That should be fun! Also, be sure to connect with the artist on Instagram.
