Immy Owusu comes from a musical family. While his father was one of Australia’s most notable West African musicians, his grandfather was big a name in Ghanaian Highlife music during the ’60s.

Immy’s style is a psychedelic concoction of highlife with elements of rock. You can get a proper taste of this sound on “Curly Hair”, the artist’s latest single which was produced by Melbourne-based Sensible J. This funky song speaks about Owusu’s experiences being misunderstood by his suburban neighbours.
