I’m so pleased to share my next interview is with rising country artist Kaitlyn Croker. I recently caught up with Kaitlyn, fresh from the release of her latest single Trouble I Chase. In this interview, you can Get to Know more about Kaitlyn and what more we can expect to hear from her in the future.

Kaitlyn Croker

Hello Kaitlyn, welcome to Jem Girl at the Piano! Tell me, when did you first discover your love for music?

I feel like music has always been a part of me. I remember being about 4 years old and singing all of the Disney princess songs tirelessly. From there, my love and passion carried through the different genres until I landed in country music.

You recently released your latest single Trouble I Chase. Congratulations on the release, its a great song! Can you share a bit about the story behind it and what inspired you to write it?

My co-writers and I wanted Trouble I Chase to be a high-energy, fun and dynamic song for summer. They often tease me that the “Trouble I Chase” is chocolate because that’s my one vice and the extent of any “bad” decisions. The cool thing about it is that everyone chases something different so it’s up to interpretation.

Any plans for an EP/album yet?

At the moment, I’m focusing on releasing singles, but you can expect there to be EP’s and albums in the future!

Who inspired you to become a singer-songwriter?

There isn’t any one specific person that inspired me to write; rather, it was country music as a whole. I knew there were some songs on the radio that weren’t written by the artist that was singing it, so this realization intrigued me, and that’s when it became more about the song and the story than the artist in particular.

Name some of your favourite music artists.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Kameron Marlowe and Cody Johnson. Growing up, Whitney Houston, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, and Celine Dion were huge inspirations to me.

How would you describe the sound of your overall music?

I’ve always been drawn to drums and electric guitar so you can expect to find some unique moments in my upcoming songs featuring those instruments. I would say my music sounds country, but some songs are a little more 90’s rock inspired and others have a classic country flare.

Have you enjoyed performing live? Where can fans expect to catch you next?

Performing live has always been the highlight for me! In April, I’ll be playing at my former high school, The Calverton School, in southern Maryland for their annual fundraiser auction. May 1st and 2nd, I’m honored to be singing the National Anthem and some of my original songs at Trump Doral in Miami for the Truth Seekers Conference. From there, I’ll be heading down to Key West to close out the songwriters festival there, as well as doing a radio tour throughout our travels.

Any teasers on your forthcoming projects?

I’m excited to announce there will be quite a few songs coming out this year that give more insight to who I am as an artist and a person.

Thank you so much Kaitlyn for sharing so much with us. Trouble I Chase is out now on all platforms and you can follow Kaitlyn Croker across the popular social media platforms.
