Alma Owren explores ‘under the surface’ on her debut EP – Aipate
Appearing in my radar early this year, Norwegian singer-songwriter Alma Owren finally releases her debut EP, a project that has left me yearning for more. Under The Surface is 4 tracks long, and arrived alongside the title track.
“under the surface” is a deeply personal, piano-guided song encapsulating Alma’s stripped back indie-pop style. Steeped in honesty and vulnerability, the lyrics delve into those unspoken thoughts and hidden emotions that, if left unchecked, could send someone into a mental abyss.
“I have found strength in being vulnerable and honest,” Alma opens up. “Through working on this EP, I have let go of the fear of being judged or misunderstood. Instead, I’ve found a new kind of peace—the ability to trust myself for who I truly am.”
Alma intends this album to help guide back to a happy place those who have had moments of self doubt or felt misunderstood in some way. It’s so good… you’ve got to give it a listen.
