Tonia drops another mesmerizing song, “Cut The Cloth, Didn’t I” – Aipate

The last few years have seen UK singer-songwriter Tonia receive lots of tastemaker support, becoming one of the most exciting up-and-comers from Liverpool. Her brand of alt-pop is eclectic, transcending genre boundaries with much ease.

I’ve just listened to her new song, “Cut The Cloth, Didn’t I”, a broody piece that starts mellow before incorporating mesmeric synths in the chorus. The way the notes harmonize is simply magnificent.

“Cut The Cloth, Didn’t I” was produced by the artist’s long-time collaborator Sfven.

Explaining the song, Tonia says, “It’s about coming to terms with the reality that sometimes relationships in your life naturally end and it’s ok to let them go… Realising that you don’t have to lose parts of yourself for someone else, and understanding that you can’t force things, or people, to stay together.”

As you watch the accompanying music video (posted above), remember you can keep up with Tonia on Instagram.
