Shub and Tia Wood unveil new song “Victorious” alongside a fascinating music video – Aipate

Canadian artists Shub (DJ and producer) and Tia Wood (singer) teamed up to create “Victorious”, a harmony-filled genre-bending song that aims to push the envelope when it comes to the fusion between indigenous sounds and modern electronic music.

For Shub, who is known for pioneering ‘powwow step’ style, this single comes at a pivotal point in his career; not only is he dropping the ‘DJ’ label in his name to reflect his expanded artistic scope, he has also just announced his next full-length release, a 2-part album called Heritage.

“I wanted this album to be a celebration of our traditions while pushing the sound of powwow step forward,” Shub reveals. “The concept behind it is all about resilience, identity, and bridging the past with the future.”

“Victorious” serves as the forthcoming album’s first single, and was released alongside a riveting music video directed by Kit Weyman. I find the video quite captivating and intriguing.
