“Myopia” feat. Vaarin is the final single taken from Dim Gray’s upcoming album: listen – Aipate
For their latest single, “Myopia”, Norwegian 5-piece band Dim Gray enlisted one of their country’s most interesting artists: Vaarin.
“Myopia” is an atmospheric chamber pop song that feels totally spellbinding. Vaarin’s vocals interweave beautifully with the cello and piano melodies to form a captivating layer atop the track’s bedrock of epic drum beats and moody synths.
Dim Gray vocalist Oskar expressed his thrill in working with the singer, saying “Her voice is full of suspense, which really underlines the drama and emotion in ‘Myopia’. It’s a song about echo chambers and tunnel vision; about tearing down something that belongs to someone else in order to build something in one’s own image.”
On her part, Vaarin had this to say about the collaboration: “The first time I heard ‘Myopia’ I felt as if drawn into a mystical spell. The string arrangement, drums and melody made me think of infinity and a battle scene between man and nature.”
Dim Gray will be releasing their third album titled Shards this coming Friday, February 28. “Myopia” is one the songs on that scheduled album.
