Newcomer Kiran unveils his debut EP, Memories from the Backseat – Aipate
From Detroit, Michigan comes this exciting new American artist called Kiran. The singer-songwriter released his 4-song debut EP on February 9th, having dropped his debut single only two weeks earlier.
Titled Memories from the Backseat, the EP is an ode to the artist’s Michigan upbringing. With Kiran getting ready to relocate to Chicago, this collection of songs marks that big shift.
If I were to use just one word to describe the writing, delivery and production of these songs, I’d say meticulous.
“I Believe in Our Love”, which is a standout for me, is an excellent exhibition of the artist’s fusion of R&B and indie-pop.
Commenting about it, he says, “This song cuts deep into the insecurities that distance between lovers can bring. It urges people to lean on the confidence that your relationship’s foundation is strong enough to withstand so much change. The bridge is the high-point of the song, where a full band enters.”
You’ll likely find a couple of songs from this EP to add to your playlist. Memories from the Backseat is really good.
