12 reasons why there might be a Swedish House Mafia reunion at Ultra Music Festival – Around The World In 80 Raves
Over the last few days rumours of a reunion between former Swedish House Mafia members Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello have been hotting up. While I’m trying not to get TOO excited in case it doesn’t happen, here are 12 reasons why I think there might be a reunion on the cards at Ultra Music Festival.
12 reasons why a Swedish House Mafia reunion could happen:
- The profile and cover image on Swedish House Mafia’s Facebook page has been updated. This is the first time in a few years.
- Their former manager Amy Thomson replied to a tweet by Ultra Music Festival. The tweet from Ultra asked what the Swedes’ last song played at Ultra was.

- Steve Angello hasn’t been announced on Ultra’s line-up, however he has a ‘free’ week the same time Ultra is on, between dates in Asia.
- Steve Angello took to Instagram to share a photo of himself at Ultra with the caption ‘Just because I can’.
- Damian Pinto (Voice of dance music/Mr Ultra Man) shared the same photo with the caption, ‘Get Your Friday On! Happy Weekend Fam! It’s gonna be a HOT ONE! 3 weeks till @Ultra‘.
- Swedish House Mafia’s Twitter account has been completely cleared of tweets and now only follows three accounts – Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello. (This happened a few months ago).
- Same as with Twitter, Swedish House Mafia’s Instagram account has been completely cleared of posts and now only follows three accounts – Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello.
- The official Chainsmokers account on Reddit brought up the subject saying, ‘Swedish House Mafia this year at ultra… yes or no?‘.
- Steve Angello has reportedly, recently followed Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso on social media.
- It’s been five years since their last EVER performance together. This performance just happened to be at Ultra Music Festival 2013.
- Ultra’s third episode of 20 Year of Ultra ends with ‘Don’t You Worry Child’.
- Steve Angello posted two videos to his Instagram Story. The videos were of Axwell & Ingrosso’s set at Don’t Let Daddy Know.
Of course this is all speculation and only time will tell. There are plenty of theories as to why this reunion won’t happen, no doubt I’ll be writing about that very soon!
